I am in charge of the Nursery Faculty; my job is to look for monitors to assist the English language students at risk of that faculty. Also, to coordinate the tutorials, train the monitors and monitor the progress of the students. I am very happy to be part of this project at Sabana University.

2.007- 2.008-I  LIBRE UNIVERSITY. Bogota. Colombia. English Professor: At this moment, I was back to Libre University.  So far I have been working with the Faculty of Education and Sciences, specifically at the Humanities and Languages Department as an English Professor. This chance to join the faculty was just the best; it was my dream for so long.  For all that, I  had the opportunity to do lots of activities and share new ideas and projects with my students. In short, I enjoyed very much my job at the University. On the other hand, I was a part of a special program that Libre University. It was designed for the community, the program is called Extension Languages Courses that took  place on weekends.   Those classes are on Saturdays afternoon, so I was assigned to different levels with teens and adults. But I could not continue working on that program because of my Master’s.

1.999 - 2.007: HERMANOS BELTRÁN SCHOOL. Bogota. Colombia. English Teacher and English Department Coordinator: First of all, I started my teaching experience with Kindergarten and Elementary School at my family’s school. I worked with children for three years. It was possible, to prepare them for diverse events. Also, we performed separate projects. Then, I decided to start working in Middle, Junior and High School which was a very different situation. So it was a very astonishing practice which made me increase my teaching background. We did a good job; it was possible for me to involve my students in several motivating cultural presentations through the school year. By working with teenagers I was very motivated to start working with adults. After having the most wonderful teaching experience of my whole life in New York City, I felt very encouraged to start working in the Educational Management field, so I began to get involved in my family’s school. For that reason, I decided to take my Master’s degree at Sabana University here in Colombia. I found this professional experience as the complement and strength to become an integral teacher. I  realized how wonderful it is to be skillful in both sides of the educational process. Not only to be a good model to students, but also to be a brilliant headmaster of an educational institution. During this time, I have had the chance to coordinate many academic processes, meetings, workshops and everything about the English Program.

I had the chance not only to go back to the E.S.O.L. classroom, but teaching Computer’s skills which it was completely new and different for me. It was an amazing teaching challenge and a cultural life experience. On the other hand, I was also working as a Volunteer office aid, so I was able to learn and to understand how the Literacy Program woks thanks to the professionalism of the Directive Stuff of the ESOL Program at Central Library Annex. Miss. Susan Dalmas and Mr. Christopher Jornales. Basically, I was putting into practice the management skills I have developed as an Educational manager during this time after graduating from my Master’s.

2.003 Spring: QUEENS BOROUGH PUBLIC LIBRARY. Flushing Adult Learning Center.

New York   City. U.S.A. Volunteer T.E.S.O.L.: I had the opportunity to share with other teachers about our teaching experiences. For that reason, I was able to apply for teaching a conversation course as a Volunteer Teacher, the course took from January the 27th, 2.003 to May the 5th, 2.003. I had a very nice group of smart, kind and very intelligent students from all over the world. So it was not only time to teach, but also time to learn from other cultures. In short, this teaching experience was the best and the most meaningful of my life. That was how, I was inspired to continue studying and preparing for my professional future not only as a teacher, but also as an educational manager.

2.001 August - 2.002:  LIBRE UNIVERSITY. Bogota. Colombia.

English Professor: As soon as I graduated from my major I was called to work for the Education Faculty, I was an English Teacher for the Engineering, Law and Accounting students at Libre University in Bogotá. Definitely, this job was the first step and the main opportunity I had to prove that I was good at working with teenagers and adults. That was how I realized what I really like and enjoy the most. Also, I had the chance to prepare my students for different university activities.
